Halloween Fun @ The Old Railway Line
Crafty youngsters from Powys and Herefordshire are invited to visit a local garden centre to enjoy a fun Halloween themed craft workshop and an exciting ‘Fangs, Tribes & Mini Beasts’ talk from global traveller, Dave Shaw.
The Halloween themed Wild Wednesday will take place at The Old Railway Line Garden Centre on Wednesday 31st October at 10.30am, 11.30am and 12.30pm and the family friendly, interactive talks are on Sunday 4th November.
General Manager, Katie Eckley explained: “We have plenty planned this Halloween including our Wild Wednesday, talks and Halloween Walkway. A highlight will be the ‘Fangs, Tribes and Mini Beasts’ talk from Dave Shaw (Rainforest Roadshow) who will be sharing his exciting world adventures including an array of live animals and artefacts from his travels. Dave’s talks are always entertaining and inspiring which are perfect for adults and children.
“We are also looking forward to our Halloween themed Wild Wednesday workshop which will be great fun and creative. We encourage children to come dressed in their scariest Halloween costumes and enjoy the crafts on offer including decorating a wooden pumpkin plaque and scary foam mask! We are also hosting a ‘Carved Pumpkin Competition’ with some fantastic prizes up for grabs for the child who brings the best carved pumpkin with them!
“When you visit don’t forget to visit our scary Halloween Walkway. It’s great fun for children and adults of all ages… if you are brave enough to enter! We ask for a £1 voluntary donation to anyone who passes through which goes to our Charity of the Year, Brecon and District Mind. In its first week the walkway raised an amazing £300!”
The Wild Wednesday workshop costs £3 per child and the Fangs, Tribes and Mini Beasts costs £2 per person. Pre-booking is recommended by calling 01497 847055 as spaces are limited. For more information about the Old Railway Line Garden Centre or upcoming events call 01497 847055.
