Enjoy freshly prepared breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and homemade cakes at our family-friendly Railway Restaurant, located at the Old Railway Line Garden Centre in Three Cocks, between Brecon and Hay-on-Wye.

Open seven days a week, our spacious restaurant serves freshly prepared food to order, from hearty breakfasts and light lunches to homemade favourites and our popular Railway Roast every Thursday and Sunday.

Whether you're visiting the garden centre, meeting friends for coffee and cake or looking for somewhere to eat while exploring Brecon, Hay-on-Wye and the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), you'll find plenty to choose from. Vegetarian, gluten-free and children's options are available too.

    Our popular Railway Roast is served every Thursday and Sunday, with a choice of home-roasted meats, crispy roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, homemade Yorkshire pudding and traditional gravy.

    Treat yourself to a traditional afternoon tea at the Old Railway Line, near Brecon and Hay on Wye. Enjoy a selection of sweet and savoury treats in the relaxed surroundings of our Railway Restaurant.

    Afternoon Tea is served from 2pm daily and makes a lovely treat for birthdays, celebrations or simply catching up with friends.

I love the Railway Garden centre. My sister and I go there for lunch every 2 weeks. My sister always has a roast dinner,which is huge. I'm a coeliac and a vegetarian, but there is always something tasty on the menu which suits my dietary requirements.

One of the most beautiful garden centres we have visited. It’s a lovely place to spend some time, with a farm shop, restaurant and café. Everything is beautifully arranged and decorated, and the food is really delicious. The staff are also very friendly and polite. We really enjoyed our visit!

We have just had an afternoon Tea at the restaurant. What a great experience! The Tea was excellent and was enhanced greatly by the surreptitious attentiveness of Lou. She made us feel very welcome and that nothing was too much trouble.

There’s no need to book a table for breakfast, lunch or coffee and cake – simply turn up and our team will find you a table. We have plenty of seating in our spacious Railway Restaurant.

Are dogs allowed in the Railway Restaurant?

Dogs aren't permitted inside the Railway Restaurant, but you're still very welcome to visit us with your four-legged friend. Dogs are welcome throughout much of the Old Railway Line Garden Centre and in our dog-friendly Tea Room.

Do you have a children's menu?

Yes. We're a family-friendly restaurant and have a dedicated children's menu, with a choice of meals and lighter options for younger visitors.

Highchairs are also available for our youngest guests.
