2018 Rose Festival
The Old Railway Line Garden Centre is hosting their first Rose Festival this year between 16th June and 1st July including exclusive special offers and a series of talks from special guests.
General Manager, Katie Eckley said “We are very excited to be launching our first ever Rose Festival this year in celebration of the beautiful rose. Our plant area is packed with a wide selection of roses perfect for gardens of all shapes and sizes.
“We are excited to welcome three very special guests who will be sharing their rose growing wisdom starting with Gareth Davies this Saturday (16th June). Gareth is a very well respected rose grower, RNRS rose advisor and judge. He will be offering free talks at 11am and 2pm so please come along and enjoy!
“On Sunday 17th June we have Diana Perry from David Austin Roses offing an entertaining and informative talk that takes us behind the scenes of one of the largest garden rose breeding programmes in the world. This talk does require booking at a cost of only £5 per person with a choice of either 11am or 2pm.
“Finally we have Keith Cowley on Saturday 30th June. As part of his monthly ‘Great Oaks’ talks in our Tea Room he will be sharing his experiences and knowledge of growing roses. This event is also free to attend with no booking required.”
