Product Description

Dicentra 'Passion Hearts' is a refined and compact bleeding heart variety valued for its long flowering period and elegant appearance. Unlike traditional dicentras that bloom briefly in spring, this modern cultivar continues producing vivid rose-pink flowers from late spring well into summer, often extending into early autumn. The flowers hang gracefully from slender stems above mounds of delicate fern-like blue-green foliage, creating a light and airy effect in the garden.

Growing to approximately 30cm in height and spread, this tidy perennial is ideal for mixed borders, shaded courtyards, woodland-style planting, and decorative patio pots. Its controlled growth habit makes it easy to combine with spring bulbs and summer-flowering companions without overwhelming neighbouring plants. The foliage remains fresh and attractive throughout the growing season, especially when planted in cooler, partially shaded positions.

Dicentra 'Passion Hearts' thrives in fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil that retains moisture without becoming waterlogged. Fully hardy across most of the UK, it offers reliable performance year after year and brings lasting ornamental interest to both traditional and contemporary garden designs.
