Description
The Lemon Tree (Citrus × limon) is a timeless favourite for gardeners looking to grow their own citrus fruit. Believed to be an ancient hybrid derived from several wild citrus species, this evergreen shrub or small tree offers ornamental appeal throughout the year with its glossy foliage, beautifully scented white flowers, and vibrant yellow lemons.
Best grown in a cool greenhouse, conservatory, or other frost-free environment, lemon trees can be moved outdoors to a sunny, sheltered position during the summer months. They thrive in warm, bright conditions and make an excellent feature plant for patios, terraces, or Mediterranean-style gardens. With the right care, they provide both decorative value and the satisfaction of harvesting fresh home-grown lemons.
