We’re so proud to share that our team here at The Old Railway Line Garden Centre recently laced up our walking boots for an amazing cause and raised an incredible £1,936 for Tiny’s Fundraiser for Prostate Cancer Research, our Charity of the Year!
Taking on the Black Mountains
On a bright (and slightly breezy!) day, a group of us set off from Hay Bluff car park to tackle an 11-mile circular hike across the beautiful but challenging Black Mountains. The route took us over rugged terrain and steep climbs, covering around five miles up to Rhos Dirion before heading across to Twmpa and looping back to Hay Bluff.
A few of our team members also took on a slightly shorter version of the hike, but that still meant conquering both Twmpa and Hay Bluff, which was no easy task! Everyone showed incredible determination and team spirit from start to finish.
A Challenge for a Cause
Our Operations Director, Katie Eckley, summed up the day perfectly:
“We’re so proud of the team for taking on such a tough challenge for such an important cause. Tiny’s Fundraiser for Prostate Cancer Research has inspired so many people to get involved and raise awareness of men’s health, and we’re thrilled to contribute £1,936 towards the incredible total being raised. It was a real team effort and a brilliant day from start to finish.”
Supporting Tiny’s Fundraiser
Tiny’s Fundraiser was set up to raise both money and awareness for Prostate Cancer Research, encouraging men to look after their health and get checked early. Over the past year, we’ve hosted a number of fundraising events, from charity car washes to bingo nights, bringing our total contribution to the cause to over £4,500 so far.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supported us, donated, or cheered us on. It was a fantastic day out in the hills, and we couldn’t be prouder to support such an important cause.
Thank you for helping us make a difference.
