Product Description
Chamaecyparis ‘Nana Lutea’ is an ornamental evergreen conifer valued for its distinctive yellow-green foliage and naturally bushy growth habit. Its bright colouring brings warmth to garden planting schemes and works particularly well alongside dark green shrubs, blue-toned conifers and flowering perennials.
This slow-growing variety gradually develops a more pyramidal form as it matures, providing an attractive architectural feature without rapid growth. Its evergreen foliage makes it a useful addition to borders and mixed planting arrangements, where it can provide structure and colour throughout the year.
‘Nana Lutea’ is well suited to a variety of garden styles, including cottage gardens, contemporary courtyards and low-maintenance landscapes. It can also be grown in a suitable patio container, allowing its attractive foliage to brighten entrances, terraces and outdoor seating areas.
For the best results, plant in a sunny position with moist but well-drained soil. It can grow in a range of soil types, including chalk, loam, sand and clay, provided drainage and growing conditions are suitable. Its slow growth makes it a practical choice for gardeners who appreciate ornamental plants that develop gradually over time.
Supplied in a 3-litre nursery pot, this colourful conifer is ready to establish in a suitable garden position or container.

Position: Choose a sunny position to help maintain the foliage's attractive yellow-green colour.
-
Soil: Plant in moist but well-drained soil. A range of soil types can be suitable, provided the roots are not left sitting in water.
-
Watering: Water thoroughly after planting and regularly while the plant establishes. Continue watering during prolonged dry spells.
-
Feeding: Apply a suitable slow-release fertiliser in spring if needed, following the manufacturer's instructions.
-
Pruning: Little routine pruning should be necessary. Remove damaged or unwanted growth as required, avoiding cuts into old, bare wood.
-
Container Growing: Choose a suitably sized pot with drainage holes and a quality growing medium. Check moisture levels regularly, as containers can dry out more quickly than garden soil.
-
Companion Planting: Combine with dark green evergreens, blue-toned conifers and flowering plants to highlight its golden foliage.
-
Long-Term Growth: Allow sufficient room for the plant to develop its natural shape as it matures.
Chamaecyparis ‘Nana Lutea’ is an excellent choice for adding bright evergreen colour and elegant structure to your outdoor space. Its slow-growing habit, attractive yellow-green foliage and versatility make it a lovely addition to garden borders, courtyard gardens and patio containers, providing year-round interest with relatively little maintenance.
The plant's growth rate and size will vary depending on planting position & conditions. Bloom, foliage and interest may vary from photo upon delivery, dependant on season.
