£1935 Raised for Brecon Mountain Rescue
We are delighted to announce that we have kick-started our fundraising campaign for Brecon Mountain Rescue with a substantial £1935 donation.
Event Manager, Matthew said “We are delighted to have raised a whopping £1935 within only 2 months of announcing our new ‘Charity of the Year’. We have hosted a Quiz and Curry Night and Bingo Night in recent weeks which have raised the majority of the total. We have also collected spare change through collection buckets and our £1 optional charge for new reward cards if customers have misplaced them.”
“Each year we choose a different ‘Charity of the Year’ which we support for a 12-month period. Brecon Mountain Rescue Team was voted the majority choice amongst colleagues in June and we look forward to supporting them until next July. We are delighted to contribute to a cause providing a vital emergency service in our area. The rescue team is staffed entirely by volunteers and funded by donation, which we hope we can continue to raise vital funds for during other fundraising activities over the next year.
Garden Centre Owner, Mark Cleary added “We love to support local charities and causes that we know do good in our area and need financial support. It costs approximately £40,000 per year to run the Brecon Mountain Rescue Team and we’d love to help contribute as much as possible.
“We have a wide range of fundraising events throughout the year contributing to a number of causes. Our next fundraising events are our Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 27th September and Quiz and Curry Night on Friday 11th October, also raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Tickets are selling quickly for the curry night so if you’re interested be sure to book as soon as possible!”
