Hamper Gifts For 30 Customers
This year we are celebrating 30 years in business, since Mark and Christina Cleary established the business in 1990 on the site of the old Brecon to Hereford Branch of the Midland Railway. The garden centre has continually grown since and has become one of the UK’s premier garden centres being awarded ‘Best Garden Centre in the UK’ by the Garden Centre Association in 2018.
Mark Cleary said, “This year we are celebrating the 30-year milestone since Christina and I started the Old Railway Line Garden Centre. We are planning a series of special offers, events and activities throughout the year to celebrate this important milestone. We want to show gratitude to our amazing, loyal customers who have supported us over the years. This month we are distributing 30 hampers to our most regular customers of 2019.
“Since 1990 the business has grown considerable but our ethos, community spirit and high levels of customer service has remained the same. Offering an enjoyable place for our customer to visit to meet friends and family is our priority, whilst providing the high quality, affordable products and catering offering people expect.
“In 1990, Christina and I decided to start selling home grown bedding plants from a small 8 x 6ft greenhouse. I attended local markets including Builth and Brecon. Customer numbers and demand for quality plants we constantly increasing so the decision was made to open a small plant area and build a couple of poly tunnels.
“Since then the business has reached various milestones including the addition of our tea room, restaurant, pet care department, indoor retail spaces and more. Hard work and determination have got us to where we are today, and our brilliant team’s hard work has been incredible over the years.
“We are looking forward to the next chapter of the businesses and investing in ways to improve our product offer and standards of customer service. Christina and I are pleased to see our children showing a keen interest in various areas of the business so the future of the Old Railway Line Garden Centre will carry on through the next generation of the family.”
